Interesting. I like it, but would have to find just the right quilting to use in the centre.

My first thought is Double Wedding String of Bead outlines … with something in the centre.

That centre is what I was thinking of quilting in the first design!

String of Beads was popular nearly one hundred years ago, and that was many years before fusible webbing and cutting machines were available. I have made several items using that one simple shape before I bought a cutting machine, but the next one will be cut mechanically, guided by computer.

I love the first design, but this second one would look great with the motifs I deleted from the first quilted in the open spaces I created, and I think I would like it more!

Enough beads to be interesting, but with some open spaces for some equally interesting quilting.

I love the second one too … find a heap of colorful but close matching fabrics, and start cutting, and place on a neutral background!

This project file features beads of many colours, shapes and sizes, unlike the traditional String of Beads design.

The second one is interesting … and I rather like it!

I like it! Pretty and scrappy, or pretty scrappy.

In the second one I know what I was trying to do by adding the contrast fan fabric, but I know I chose the wrong fabric.

Needs some quilting lines added, but being Christmas Eve there are a few other things to fill in my day … maybe by next Christmas!

I am always amazed how many ways one small shape can be repeated to create unique designs.

What if I draw tree outlines with the green beads, and add red decorations? Sounds like fun if I can find time in the next year!

Hmm! The centre of the first designs sort of looks like a game of Noughts and Crosses.

I love it.

Second design is much simpler, and I love it … no favourite for today.

Love the design above, and particularly love the block without the beaded frame.

In the second design I love the quilted beaded circle surrounding that same block design.

I love playing with virtual beads … and love the results.

Love the simplicity of the straight lines of beads, and also the double swag border.

Mind you, I should have redrawn the blocks so the beads met properly. I have redrawn the blocks, but I prefer using them in new designs!

I think I would prefer this one without the sashing, but it I do like it.
